View From Mt. Jefferson

10,000 years ago Jefferson was buried under 6,000 feet of ice! Things have only gotten better since. Situated on the northern edge of the Catskills, three major rivers have their headwaters on Mount Jefferson (2,738 ft), the Delaware, Schoharie (Hudson) and the Susquehanna.

Settled in 1803 by New Englanders Jefferson grew to the point of having an opera house and two newspapers by the turn of the century. Things have calmed down quite a bit since then leaving us with a quiet rural area with a mix of dairy farms, sap houses, specialty food growers, artists and scenic country roads.

Come see us, come and enjoy Jefferson … Where You Want to Be!
